Before you spend the time away from your clubs and the money to have your clubs powder coated, you probably want to know what powder coating is, why it is beneficial, and what your options are.

Powder coating can be done to most anything metal. The process is somewhat self explanatory. Instead of the finish being liquid, the finish is a powder. The club is covered in the powder coating before it is heated in a 400 degree oven. While in the oven, the powder melts and is "baked" onto the metal.

Powder coating can be beneficial in many ways. One problem with buying new clubs besides the price is getting used to the club. The clubs you play with now, you're used to them, you know exactly where the sweet spot is, the grips fit your hand perfectly from round after round. With powder coating, your club is the same, you don't have to break it in. However, after so many games, the finish wears, and the clubs just don't look as nice. Powder coating can take that old, favorite club and make it look brand new.

Additionaly, powder coated clubs stay shinier longer. The reason for this is simply, liquid finishes are diluted where in powder coating it is a much more concentrated substance. In fact, many times marks on a powder coated club can be simply wiped off.

Finally, powder coating is much cheaper than buying new.

As for options, they are near endless. Many colors are available as well as finishes. Finishes range from flat, to glossy, to metallic. For full page of options, click the following pictures.
